An opportunity for sharing is provided for each child, only on the days their parent participates in the classroom or if they are “Person of the Week”. On that day, your child is encouraged to bring one object, photo, idea, book or song to show the other children during circle time. Until sharing time, please keep items in the “sharing basket” located at the bottom of the stairs in our preschool. A brown paper bag, clearly marked with the child’s name, is an excellent tool for concealment and adds an extra dimension of surprise, as is a backpack or shopping bag. There will be no sharing time on field trip days.

Every second week a different child will be honored as “Person of the Week”. This person is chosen alphabetically by first name. The child will have a bulletin board assigned for this time to display several items and/or pictures. Activities, items, people and pets that are important to the child may be brought for sharing during circle time any and all days during their two weeks. In addition, the “Person of the Week” begins Snack Time by ringing the school bell. The teacher will send home a letter in your folder at least one week prior to your child's turn as “Person of the Week."

Field Trips provide an excellent opportunity for learning and fun outside of our classroom.  Just some of our field trip locations include trips to the pumpkin patch, the fire station, the library, the pet store and the beach.
